Prayer to the Angels and Saints Before Mass

NOTE: This is a traditional Catholic preparation prayer historically found in the Roman Missal, prayed by the priest or the faithful before celebrating or attending the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The prayer invokes all nine choirs of angels—specifically listing the Angels, Archangels, Thrones, Dominions, Principalities, Powers, Virtues, Cherubim, and Seraphim—alongside the saints and personal patrons, asking for their collective intercession so that the person may offer a worthy sacrifice to God.

Angels, Archangels, Thrones, Dominions, Principalities, Powers, celestial Virtues, Cherubim and Seraphim; all Saints of God, holy men and women, and you especially, my patrons: I ask you to plead for me that I may have the grace to offer a worthy sacrifice to almighty God, to the praise and glory of His Name, for my own welfare and that of all His Holy Church.
Amen.
