Meetings
ARMOR meetings encourage people to grow in virtue in a personal and/or group setting.
ARMOR meetings encourage people to grow in virtue in a personal and/or group setting.
ARMOR offers free personal coaching meetings that help to identify new habits aligned with the virtues and to encourage practicing those new habits to grow in virtue.
These personal coaching meetings are different from professional counseling and spiritual direction, which should be pursued separately, and no advice or recommendations are offered by the coach to the coachee. As stated by the International Coaching Federation, "Through powerful questioning and insightful dialogue, coaches support you in discovering your own solutions... cultivat[ing] deep, lasting, change."
Please contact ARMOR to inquire about a personal coaching meeting.
ARMOR facilitates group meetings that encourage people to grow in virtue through prayer, reading and discussion, and shared accountability.
Men's group meetings are held on Wednesdays at 6:30pm CT at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Houston, TX.
Women's group meetings are waiting for women to volunteer to form and lead weekly meetings.
Contact ARMOR if you'd like to join an existing group meeting or start a new men's or women's group meeting at your parish.
Hello and welcome to this meeting for ARMOR, which helps people to grow in virtue and find true happiness that comes only from God.
Please help to minimize distractions by taking this time to silence your cell phone, and keep in mind that what is said here stays here.
Before we pray, let’s introduce ourselves and announce any prayer intentions. My name is _____, and I pray for _____. (Continue introductions for everyone.)
We offer up these intentions as we pray the Hail Mary.
Now we'll begin the reading & discussion part of the meeting, and we'll read _____ (see readings & indicate start/stop place). Each person is invited to read a paragraph before passing to the next person. If you prefer not to read, just say "pass" when it's your turn. Who would like to start the reading?
(After finishing the reading...) Let’s take some time now to discuss briefly our thoughts on the reading, being mindful of staying on topic for the sake of time. Let's also refrain from providing any recommendations or suggestions as to what others should say or do, and no comments should be interpreted by anyone as recommendations or suggestions as to what anyone else should say or do. Who would like to start the discussion?
(After everyone has shared...) That ends our time for sharing thoughts on the readings.
As we begin the accountability part of the meeting, keep in mind that the objective is for us to learn from each other's experiences in practicing each of the virtues during the last week. Let's refrain from providing any recommendations or suggestions as to what others should say or do, and no comments should be interpreted by anyone as recommendations or suggestions as to what anyone else should say or do.
Using the Grow in Virtue page as a guide, let's briefly summarize the fruits and struggles we experienced during the last week in striving to practice each of the virtues. Who would like to start the sharing?
(After everyone has shared on all virtues...) Thank you all for your participation. If you would like to share more or learn more about what was shared here, please follow-up with someone here after the meeting.
Before we close the meeting...
