Meetings

Attending meetings is a critical part of the journey to grow in virtue, since it involves learning more about the virtues and better habits aligned to those virtues.

ARMOR facilitates group meetings that enable better habits, and these meetings include prayer, reading, discussion, and accountability. Group meetings are established at the parishes listed below. Contact ARMOR if you'd like to start a new group meeting at your parish.

Introduction & Prayer

Hello and welcome to this meeting for ARMOR, which is on a mission to enable better habits.
Please help to minimize distractions by taking this time to silence your cell phone, and keep in mind that what is said here stays here.
Are there any newcomers? (If NO, proceed to the intros. If YES, read the Newcomer Welcome below.)
- Newcomer Welcome: Thank you for joining us, and welcome to your first ARMOR meeting. ARMOR's mission is to enable better habits, which help us to grow in virtue and experience true happiness. Grow in Virtue is the rule of life we follow every day by committing to virtues that overcome vices, by exercising better habits aligned with those virtues, and by sharing our experiences with exercising better habits as accountability for ourselves and encouragement for others to grow in virtue and experience true happiness. In this meeting, we'll pray the Hail Mary for specific intentions, read about one or more virtues and share thoughts on that reading, share and learn from each other's experiences in striving to grow in virtue, and then we'll close the meeting with announcements and the Lord's Prayer. Do you have any questions?
Before we pray, let’s introduce ourselves and announce any prayer intentions. My name is _____, and I pray for _____. (Continue introductions for everyone.)

Reading & Discussion

Now we'll begin the reading & discussion part of the meeting, and we'll read _____ (See readings & indicate start/stop place).
Each person is invited to read a paragraph before passing to the next person. If you prefer not to read, just say "pass" when it's your turn. Who would like to start the reading?

Accountability

As we begin the accountability part of the meeting, keep in mind that the objective is for us to learn from each other's experiences about what has worked or not worked for each of us while exercising better habits during the last week. No comments should be interpreted as recommendations for what others should do.
Using the Grow in Virtue page as a guide, let's briefly share our experiences in exercising better habits during the last week. Who would like to start the sharing?
