Read Spiritual Works

 

To read spiritual works (2 Timothy 3:16-17) is to grow in virtue, which leads to true happiness. The goal is to read something that draws our mind to thoughts of God every day, starting with short Bible readings and growing from there. The following are examples of spiritual works to read every day:

• Read the Bible. Start with the short Daily Bible Readings, then grow from there with a daily Bible reading plan like the Bible in a Year podcast.

• Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC). Start with one page per day, then grow from there with a daily Catechism reading plan like The Catechism in a Year.

• Read other spiritual works focused on daily readings, like Cultivating Virtue or "A Year With...".
